This book is about Sara looking for "something real" this to her is new exchange student last year. Dave. He asked hr for her number last day of school and didn't call all summer. Tobey is looking for "something real" preferably Sara. He's had his eyes on her for a while, but just can't get the courage up to talk to her. Always ends up making a fol of himself.
This to me is the typical happily ever after teenage story. Guy gets girl, girl so happy, blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...
But this story I noticed s actually somewhat different. It deal with realistic life issues. Things that interest teens. Things that draw us in. Things like boy trouble, but not just boy trouble. School problems too. Like getting your grades up to get in a great college. Things that seem remotely possible in reality. And it dos not have the "perfect body" image. There is self-consciousness, and problems regular people deal with everyday in the real life.
